Nature Of Australia — Природа Австралии

Australia is an amazing continent. According to scientists, this is the oldest continent on our planet, lying on the Precambrian platform, which was formed more than 3 billion years ago.

Due to the fact that Australia was opened to the world much later than other continents, nature is preserved better. The continent itself is located in four climatic zones: tropical, subtropical, temperate and sub-Equatorial. From the North, from the equator winds and waters of the Indian ocean bring warmth to the shores of Australia. From the South often blow cold winds, bringing frost from the coast of Antarctica.

The uniqueness of Australian nature is explained by its landscape: coastal areas are drowning in the greenery of trees, the center of the continent is a zone of semi-deserts and savannas, occasionally interspersed with Islands of vegetation in the deep lowlands and along the floodplain of rivers. However, in Australia t, there is little rainfall, because rivers and lakes are few.

The mountains are located in the East and South-West. But the mountains are low, not exceeding 1300 m above sea level, despite their sonorous name-the Australian Alps.

Currently, there are more than 1,000 nature reserves in Australia, where animals and plants of wild nature are represented.
